We don't have it? We can get it!
Interlibrary loan is the primary way in which we get materials for our distance students that we don't currently have in the collection. We work as fast as we can to get you materials, but there is a limit to what we can do, since we are asking other libraries to lend us their materials. Please understand that while some orders may be filled quickly, the average is between 1 and 2 business days to email materials to you. Digital materials are the easiest and fastest way for us to get resources to our distance students. Because you can access our databases whenever you need, you don't have to wait on a librarian to gather or convert these materials for you. We have developed the Research Library Guide to help you navigate and access these materials.
We have converted many of our physical holdings to digital only, in an attempt to connect as many of our students with as many of our resources as possible, however, that doesn't mean we have everything available. If you need a resource, please contact the library and we can discuss with you what the best options may be, even if that means finding other materials, which may be accessed in a more timely fashion.
Print materials have their own set of rules when it comes to access. When it comes to our distance students, we may be able to digitize small sections of a specific material and email it to you.
Our policy on shipping/mailing physical materials to you is that we do not mail physical materials to distance students. Unfortunately the cost/time it takes to ship these materials is prohibitive, not only to ship them to you, but for you to be able to use them effectively, since they'll often arrive after the point of use in an online course. In these situations we encourage you to use the Interlibrary Loan system of your local public library, which can do the same process we would, but have it available much sooner than we can.
We currently do not provide access to textbooks for classes, either. Due to the quick changing and updating of these materials, we simply cannot keep up. If you have questions about your textbooks or Chalk&Wire (now Anthology Portfolio), please contact your instructor or the CUNE Bookstore.
