The 4 steps of online database searching (transcript)

Identify the main concepts in your research question.
List synonyms for the main concepts.
Create a preliminary search.
Interact with search results to refine them.

In the Library

When searching Link Library it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with certain sections. For this class you'll be looking at the 300's which are where the Social Sciences are classified. Here's a quick run down of some areas of interest.

300 - Social Sciences
330 - Economics
336 - Public Finance
339 - Macroeconomics

Of course there are spots in between and around these that may be of interest, but this is a great place to start.
